Trump’s government of psychopaths, systematically denying reality, recently added Antifa to the list of terrorist organizations. But there’s a small catch. Or rather, a big one. Antifa isn’t actually an organization at all. Not only does it lack any formal structure, it has no fixed membership either. Antifa is more of a movement or an idea — the idea of anti-fascism.
Trump’s crusade precisely mirrors tactics known from the 1930s in Germany or the 1950s in Czechoslovakia. Under the guise of fighting Antifa, it becomes easy to persecute all inconvenient groups and individuals. Hitler had the Judeo-Bolsheviks, Gottwald had class enemies, and Trump has Antifa. In his speeches, he vividly describes how its members—from Chicago through Los Angeles to Portland—furiously attack government buildings, police officers, and “decent citizens.” He raves about burning cities and chaos in the streets.
Meanwhile, right after his election, he pardoned his own supporters who had been convicted for the attack on the U.S. Capitol—an assault that left the interior completely trashed, feces smeared on the walls, and even injured and dead.
In contrast, yesterday Defense Secretary Hegseth signed an agreement with Qatar, which now gains the ability to train its soldiers on U.S. soil—specifically in the state of Idaho. Yes, you read that right. The very same Qatar that for years has sponsored actual terrorist organizations, from Hamas through the Al-Nusra Front to the Muslim Brotherhood, and which even played a role in supporting terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks. But hey, Trump got a lavish airplane and a golf contract worth more than 5 billion dollars from the sheikhs. So why not invite the armed forces of terrorism sponsors onto American soil? America First!
As Trump and his loyalists tirelessly continue to mislead the public with claims about the supposed danger of antifascists, homosexuals, transgender people, or environmental activists, American antifascists responded brilliantly — with humor. Antifa in the U.S. has now rebranded itself as Amphifa (from amphibian) and adopted the frog as its new symbol. The ruling American idiocracy now has no choice but to ban frogs and hope that, in their frenzied hunt for green amphibians, Americans won’t notice how their freedoms are vanishing day by day.
